Three Equipment to Transition Your Fashion to Fall

Accessories make all the difference and they’ve been my main tool to transition looks to fall without the obvious chunky knits, ponchos and boots that seem too heavy right now. The Right Hat A felt or wool hat is probably my favorite way to change up a look and help the slow wardrobe transition from summer to fall. I wear these hats year round, but they seem especially fitting as we head into autumn. Urban Outfitters always has a decent selection of affordable wool hats that I shop like this panama hat in black or tan and I’m still loving these fisherman style hats, especially in copper. My favorite hats are from Lack of Color–I usually shop these at local shops like Retail Therapy or Marie La Mode–and even find them carried at shops in other cities where I find the style I’m looking for (and avoid shipping costs.) An Olive Jacket I’ve found a few olive jackets that I need in my life and this is one of them. It’s light enough now to toss over a white linen tank and easy enough to layer come colder weather. I’m a fan of this classic jacket silhouette and also love […]

A Monochromatic Matching Set for Fall

My obsession with matching sets started with summer just a few years ago. Instead of pulling separates to style, I found adorable matching print crop tops and maxi skirts. So easy and current without making any real effort at all. And now Retail Therapy got a few of these matching tops and bottoms in for fall. It’s today’s trendy version of summer’s matching sets, in fall tones, soft materials like Tencel and billowy silhouettes. Styling the Two Piece Outfit I styled this for work last week on a day with client meetings–they started off in an office and ended on a dairy farm and this swiftly took me from A to B with comfort. I styled it with nude details like the mules and Givenchy bag (earlier in the day I carried a LV tote to hold all my work items), plus some statement jewelry. Since I was wearing all one color, I felt like I could pull off the Clydes Rebirth necklace plus the oversized hoop earrings. Two Piece Looks to Shop Free People has so many cute matching sets like this cozy two piece in jade. I also found this gorgeous gingham print maxi dress–gives the illusion of […]

A Summer season to Fall Outfit Thought

As much as I love to style and wear anything black, I have soft spot for pink. I live for the pink stripe in the top, these cute little espadrilles and even the salmon pink building in the background in a few of the shots. I occasionally can get behind a soft, sweet and playful look like this–a little outside what I might normally style when the silhouettes are within my comfort zone. Cue the billowing layers, my fave! Luckily for me, a few of these things I love like a billowy top and wideleg denim appear to be right on trend with the next season. Fall Trends I Dig I’m not normally ahead of trends, but I will say that I’ve been well ahead of the tying up the shirt thing for years now AND along for the burgeoning wideleg pant trend as well. I got these pants on clearance from Retail Therapy three years ago now and they’re still a closet staple despite the elastic at the waist that makes it almost impossible to pull up over my thighs. This style is more of a cropped denim pant while the ones I’ve been eyeing lately are wideleg jeans […]
